Forecasters at the Storm Prediction Center are monitoring much of Central/Southern Minnesota and Western Wisconsin for a possible issuance of a severe thunderstorm and or tornado watch by 3 PM Today.
In the Duluth area, this mesoscale discussion (MD) includes the Counties of Pine MN…Burnett WI…Washburn WI…and Sawyer WI.

-15z (10am) HRRR model run showing thunderstorm initiation taking place around 4 PM Today in Western Minnesota.
-Future radar valid for 6 PM Today. Note the scattered potentially severe thunderstorms across Western and Central Minnesota.
-Future radar valid for 9 PM Tonight. Lines of strong to possibly severe thunderstorms from Central Minnesota to Westcentral Wisconsin. Note: Looks like a lot of the bigger storms should stay south of the Twin Ports later Today and This Evening with mainly showers and possibly a few weak t’storms in Duluth/Superior especially after 6 PM the way it looks now.
