A definite hint of fall in the air across the Northland Today as high temperatures were only in the 60s to around 70 degrees which is around 5-7 degrees cooler than average for early September. Lots of clouds This Morning with increasing amounts of sunshine during the Afternoon. Winds were out of the north or west at 5 to around 20 mph.

Tonight (September 2)
High pressure will remain over the Upper Midwest giving us clear to partly cloudy skies. Lows will be in the 40s to lower 50s with winds turning to the south/west at 5 to 15 mph.
Tuesday and Tuesday Night (September 3)
A cold front will settle south out of Southern Canada during this period. Not expecting any precipitation with this front. Partly to mostly cloudy skies can be expected with milder temperatures with highs Tomorrow in the 70s to lower 80s. Lows Tomorrow Night will be in the 40s and 50s with a few 60s in Southern areas. South or southwest winds at 10 to 20 mph on Tuesday will become north/east Tuesday Night at 10 to 20 mph.

Wednesday through Friday (September 4-6)
Another shot of cool air pushes into the Northland on Wednesday with high pressure building in from the NW. Highs will be in the 60s and 70s with a gusty NE wind off Lake Superior. Lows Wednesday Night will be in the 40s and 50s. Dry weather is expected through this period with highs on Thursday and Friday in the 70s, perhaps even a few 80s returning by Friday. Lows Thursday Night will be in the 40s and 50s.

Showers could return to parts of the Northland on Saturday (7th) but an even greater chance for some rain showers arrives sometime during the Sunday-Tuesday time frame (8th-10th) as a low pressure system approaches from the Northern Rockies. Temperatures look to be pretty close to average through this period.
