…Snow falling over portions of the Northland This Morning…
The following cities reported light snow at 9 AM:
-Radar snap shot as of 9:30 AM October 20, 2013. Note: Movement of this precipitation is toward the east.
*Low pressure as of 8 AM was centered in far Northeast South Dakota (1001mb) This low is forecast to move into South Central Minnesota Today and will reach Central Wisconsin This Evening and Eastern portions of Lake Superior by Monday Morning.
*Snow and a rain/snow mix will continue Today, and in locations that aren’t seeing any precipitation as of mid-Morning expect it to begin by around Noon.
* The majority of this precipitation will remain on the light side with total liquid amounts ending up generally in the 0.10-0.25″ range by This Evening.
*Total snowfall accumulations by This Evening will remain less than 1″ for most of us in ME Minnesota and NW Wisconsin, the exception to this could be around the Cass Lake, Walker, Brainerd areas where up to 2″ of snow could accumulate Today.
*Most of the snow that falls should only accumulate on grassy surfaces, trees, and higher elevated objects. Sidewalks and roads should stay mostly wet, but use caution as some slush could accumulate on paved surfaces Today, especially if a heavier band of snow sets up.
