*Still a ways out and numerous things could change, but with the 12z model run Today the GFS has trended toward previous runs of the EURO model. It is just 1 model run though so will see if there’s any consistency during the next few days. Maps below are from http://www.instantweathermaps.com/
-1st image is the GFS model (12z run) valid for next Monday Morning, November 18, 2013. Low pressure generally over Northern Michigan.
-2nd image is the EUROPEAN model (12z run) valid for next Monday Morning, November 18, 2013. EURO continues to show a deeper system and is a little farther northwest with the track.
Note: The area I highlighted in blue on both maps would have the best chance at getting some snow or a rain/snow mix from Sunday into Monday. Stay tuned!

Forecast Discussion for Northeast Minnesota and Northwest Wisconsin
Short Term Forecast – Confidence: High.
Tonight (November 12)
Not quite as cold Tonight as it was last night as we are now getting on the backside of the mammoth high to our south, what this does is produces a southwesterly return flow of slightly milder air. Lows Tonight will be mainly in the teens and 20s with some single digits possible especially over Northwest Wisconsin. Clear to partly cloudy skies are expected. Winds will be out of the southwest at 10 to 15 mph.
Wednesday and Wednesday Night (November 13)
A weak low pressure system along with a warm front and cold front will be tracking through the Upper Midwest during this period. Not expecting any precipitation with this low, however. Partly to mostly cloudy skies are forecast with highs in the 30s to around 40 degrees with lows in the 20s to lower 30s. Winds will be out of the west or southwest at 10 to 20 mph.
Extended Forecast – Confidence: High.
Thursday through Saturday (November 14-16)
Another fairly weak system is forecast to move across the area from Thursday into Friday, that one may produce a few flurries/snow showers mostly in Northern Minnesota, the rest of us should stay dry during the Thursday – Friday time period. Could see some rain showers on Saturday as an upper level trough and area/s of low pressure develop to our west/south. High temperatures during this period will be in the 30s and 40s with lows Thursday Night and Friday Night in the 20s and 30s.
Long Range Forecast – Confidence: Medium.
The Northland could see some snow or a rain/snow mix turning to snow type of scenario during the Sunday/Monday period (17th-18th) It’s possible that there will be a band of accumulating snow somewhere over or close to the Northland late this weekend/early next week so stay tuned to later updates. The rest of this period looks generally dry at this time. Near to below average temperatures are expected during this period.
