18z NAM 500mb Vorticity forecast for Friday – A strong vort dropping south/southeast from the eastern Manitoba-Western Ontario area will be our Friday light snow event in the Northland.

18z NAM-Nest 3km model simulated radar starting at Noon Friday, ending at 9 PM Friday.  Snow looks to start in far northern Minnesota around Noon Friday, then will move farther south/east through late Friday afternoon, the snow will then exit the Northland Friday evening.  Snowfall totals for Friday afternoon-early evening ranging from a coating to as much as 2 inches in parts of northeast Minnesota and northwest Wisconsin.

Note:  Start time here in Duluth 1-3 PM Friday, ending 5-7 PM.

.Friday…  Mostly cloudy.  Light snow mainly during the afternoon.  High 20 to 24.  Wind west at 10 to 20 mph.

.Friday night…  Light snow ending early.  Total snowfall around an inch.  Partly to mostly cloudy.  Low 7 to 12.  Wind becoming north to northwest at 10 to 20 mph.
