Weather Synopsis
…Active weather pattern in place…
Very little change in the overall pattern through Sunday with a frontal boundary nearly stalled out over the upper Midwest but possibly fluctuating a little to the north or south at times. No shortage of moisture with dew points ranging from 65 to 75 degrees, PWATS from 1.50 to 2.20 inches. Will continue to see thunderstorms develop at times tonight through Sunday in northeast Minnesota and northwest Wisconsin. Rainfall rates could be extremely heavy at times which could lead to localized flooding, and where thunderstorms train for a few hours, flooding risk would also increase significantly!
Potential is also there for a few strong to severe thunderstorms with moderately strong instability remaining over the area. Hail and gusty winds continue to be the main threats in our area.
There will be dry hours in between these rounds of thunderstorms through the weekend so it shouldn’t be a complete washout.
Lows tonight and Saturday night on the mild side with temperatures in the 60s to around 70 degrees. Highs Saturday in the 70s and 80s. It will be cooler at times near Lake Superior through Saturday.
Be sure to stay weather aware!
