Weather Synopsis for northeast Minnesota and northwest Wisconsin
Another very cold November day around here with highs in the teens to around 20 degrees under partly to mostly cloudy skies. The Northland remained in a frigid airmass today with afternoon 850mb temperatures of -10 to -18C per 22z RAP model.
Partly to mostly cloudy skies for tonight with lows ranging from around zero to the teens above zero, its possible that a few of the typical cold spots drop a few degrees below zero tonight, but subzero lows shouldn’t be as widespread Wednesday morning compared to this morning.
Temperatures warm up a bit on Wednesday with highs in the upper 20s to mid 30s with some upper 30s possible in far western areas, so yes it will be milder Wednesday afternoon, but forecasted highs are still near or a bit below average for mid November.
Highs Thursday are expected to be in the 30s to lower 40s. Low pressure will move into the upper Midwest later in the day which could bring some light snow or mixed precipitation to the Northland with lingering chances for flurries and snow showers on Friday ahead of the next blast of cold air which impacts us this weekend.
