Radar forecast from Noon to 10 PM Monday.
Monday morning and early afternoon look dry, but from mid afternoon through early Monday evening there is a chance for a few showers and thunderstorms in northeast Minnesota and northwest Wisconsin.
There will be some instability in place on Monday with stronger NW flow as well. Colder air aloft (500mb temps -20 to -25C) mid level lapse rates will steepen to around 7.0-7.5 c/km while CAPE increases to around 300-700 J/kg. Northwest flow at 500mb will be in the 30-40 knot range.
Although widespread convection is unlikely Monday, a few spotty strong thunderstorms are possible later in the day with a risk for sub-severe hail (under 1.00 inch diameter) brief downpours, lightning and wind gusts to 35 mph are also possible with the isolated storms Monday afternoon-evening.
