Hurricane Milton is resembling a buzzsaw today, classified as a Category 5 storm. The National Hurricane Center’s 4 PM advisory reports sustained winds of 180 mph and maximum gusts up to 220 mph.

Note: Hurricane Milton is anticipated to remain a significant hurricane (Category 3) as it approaches landfall in western Florida, likely late Wednesday evening or early Thursday morning. Despite a slight reduction in wind speeds, it will continue to pose a severe threat due to the potential for catastrophic storm surge flooding.
It appears that Hurricane Milton’s eye is projected to make landfall late Wednesday night or early Thursday morning near St. Pete Beach, Florida. However, the trajectory could shift further north towards Treasure Island or veer south towards Tierra Verde.
