On a cold mid-March morning in the Northland, temperatures plunged well below zero, a sharp contrast to the usual lows in the low to mid-teens above zero for March 14th.

Here are some of the lowest temperatures recorded this morning.

  • Hog Creek, MN: -12
  • Eveleth, MN: -11
  • Hibbing, MN: -10
  • Ely, MN: -9
  • Longville, MN: -8
  • International Falls, MN: -8
  • Twig, MN: -8
  • Glidden, WI: -8
  • Cable, WI: -7
  • Hayward, WI: -6

Note: This morning, the Duluth Airport recorded a temperature of -4 degrees, marking the second subzero day this month and the first since March 1st, when it dropped to -11 degrees. On average, March typically has four subzero days.
