Today’s Weather Summary for NE Minnesota and NW Wisconsin
High pressure of 1032mb was over Southern Illinois This Afternoon. The Northland had a good deal of sunshine Today with high temperatures mainly in the low to mid teens. Winds were from the west or southwest at 5 to 15 mph with gusts to 30 mph near Lake Superior.

Short Term Forecast – Confidence: High.
Tonight through Saturday Night (February 7-8)
Clear to partly cloudy skies will be common through this period. Lows will be in the single digits, teens, and 20s below Tonight. Highs Tomorrow will be in the single digits to around 20 above. Lows Tomorrow Night will range from the single digits above to the teens below zero. Winds will be out of the west or southwest winds at 5 to 15 mph Tonight with higher gusts near Lake Superior. Winds will shift to more of a northerly direction by Tomorrow Night at 5 to 15 mph.
Extended Forecast – Confidence: High.
Sunday through Tuesday (February 9-11)
Dry weather should continue for Sunday and Monday with highs in the single digits below to single digits above zero. Lows Sunday Night and Monday Night will be in the single digits, teens, and 20s below. Could get a little bit of snow by next Tuesday (11th) as a system approaches from the Northern Plains. Highs on Tuesday are forecast to be in the single digits and low teens.
Long Range Forecast – Confidence: High.
(February 12-17)
Temperatures are expected to remain below average through this period. There could be some snow from the 12th-13th as a low pressure system tracks through the region. The exact track of this system is uncertain as some models take the low to our north while others are further south. Will have to wait a few more days for the computer models to come into better agreement. Note: If this system does take a favorable track, then a few inches of snow is certainly possible across the Northland during the middle of next week. Stay tuned.
