Weather Summary for September 20, 2014
Location: Northeast Minnesota and Northwest Wisconsin
High temperatures were in the 60s and low 70s Today which is near to slightly warmer than average for late September. Clouds early in the day gave way to a few hours of sun before more clouds moved in during the Afternoon…These clouds were associated with a potent disturbance which moved SE out of the Northern Plains. Strong jet stream winds and very good forcing with that disturbance led to an area of rain and scattered thunderstorms which moved west-east across the Northland late This Afternoon. A few of the storms late This Afternoon produced damaging winds across Crow Wing County, however, the majority of the severe weather ended up being farther south – generally south of Interstate 94. Note: Storm reports from Today will be included in Sunday’s blog post.
