Weather Synopsis
A mild and somewhat muggy day across our area with highs today in the upper 70s to lower 80s along with dew points that ranged from the mid to upper 60s in eastern Minnesota and in parts of northwest Wisconsin with lower dew points in the 50s covering north central Minnesota — This dry air is located behind a cold front which was moving east/southeast through the Northland this afternoon, little if any precipitation has developed near this boundary today, only some clouds.
Cold front will continue to move east this evening and will exit the Northland by mid evening. Although the atmosphere has become a little unstable late this afternoon ahead of this front, there is very little convergence or forcing near this front, thus it looks like most of us will stay dry this evening but isolated showers or thunderstorms could develop in a few spots, but this shouldn’t be a big deal. Otherwise for tonight partly cloudy skies with lows falling into the lower 50s to lower 60s.
Near picture perfect weather on the way for Tuesday with mostly sunny skies, lower dew points, northwest winds and highs in the 70s to around 80 degrees!
A chance for showers Wednesday and Thursday but probably just scattered rain coverage once again so some of us could miss out on the rain. Highs Wednesday in the 60s and 70s with highs Thursday mainly in the 60s as we see a decent shot of cold air advection occur behind the cold frontal passage that takes place on Wednesday — 850mb temperatures are forecast to range from +9 to +13C Wednesday afternoon, dropping to around +6C Thursday afternoon per model guidance.
