A major winter storm will impact parts of the Northland Friday into Saturday with the worst conditions expected in northwest Wisconsin especially along the South Shore of Lake Superior where blizzard conditions are expected from Friday afternoon through Saturday morning east of the city of Superior.
Snow is expected to begin between mid-morning and mid-afternoon on Friday with snow starting in Duluth between 10 AM to 1 PM Friday.

- Blizzard Warning is in effect from 6 AM Friday to Noon Saturday for Bayfield and Ashland County in northwest Wisconsin.
- Winter Storm Warning is in effect from 6 AM Friday to Noon Saturday for Douglas County in northwest Wisconsin.
- Winter Storm Warning is in effect from 6 AM Friday to 9 AM Sunday for Iron County in northwest Wisconsin.

Northwest Wisconsin especially along the South Shore, east of the city of Superior will likely get the most snow from this storm with accumulations ranging from 6 to 13 inches, highest amounts closer to Lake Superior.
Accumulations taper off farther west and south.
Duluth area: 2 to 4 inches of snow are possible Friday afternoon through Saturday morning. Winds increase out of the northeast Friday afternoon and then out of the north-northwest Friday night and Saturday. Wind gusts of 20 to 30 mph are likely which will lead to areas of blowing snow.

A powerful storm will lift northeast out of the Texas Panhandle tonight with the center of the low likely passing south/east of Chicago Friday evening and west of Detroit by Friday night.
This storm will deepen considerably as it lifts northeast with the central pressure of the low falling from around 995mb this evening to around 976mb by Friday evening.
