Average temperature ranks in the Northland for February 2024

February 2024 was a warm one in the Northland with average monthly temperatures for the month finishing some +11 to +13 degrees above normal.

Note: Duluth recorded its least snowy February on record with just 1.6 inches of snow last month. The previous record was 2.1 inches set February of 1896.

2023-2024 seasonal snowfall total at Duluth sits at 18.7 inches which is nearly -50 inches below normal to date (-49.3″ below normal)

By this time last year, nearly 100 inches of snow had fallen in Duluth (99.5 inches) We’ve seen -80.8 inches less snow this winter compared to last winter through March 1st.

Average temperature ranks by state for February 2024

26 out of 29 days or 90% of days in February were warmer than average in Duluth compared to just 3 out of 29 days or 10% of days which were colder than average.

There wasn’t much snow in most of the Northland last month, although far northern Minnesota did see higher snow totals compared to the rest of the Northland.

International Falls: 8.9 inches (normal 12.6 inches)
