Precipitation Stats for 2024; Low Temperature reports from Saturday morning

One nice thing about this upcoming storm is that it will bring widespread significant precipitation to the Northland which is something we haven’t seen in quite some time.

Total Precipitation so far in 2024

International Falls, MN: 1.89″
Eau Claire, WI: 1.57″
Duluth, MN: 1.15″
Twin Cities, MN: 0.97″
Cloquet, MN: 0.80″
Hibbing, MN: 0.70″

Precipitation Anomalies so far this year

Cloquet: -2.14″ below normal
Twin Cities: -1.86″ below normal
Eau Claire: -1.81″ below normal
Duluth: -1.77″ below normal
Hibbing: -0.92″ below normal
International Falls: -0.24″ below normal

Percent of Normal Precipitation so far this year

International Falls: 89% of normal
Eau Claire: 46% of normal
Hibbing: 43% of normal
Duluth: 39% of normal
Twin Cities: 34% of normal
Cloquet: 27% of normal

All of northeast Minnesota and northwest Wisconsin are forecast to get at least an inch of precipitation between Sunday afternoon and Tuesday afternoon with 2 or more inches of precipitation possible in northwest Wisconsin and far eastern Minnesota and also along the North Shore of Lake Superior.

A very cold spring morning across the Northland with subzero temperatures reported at some locations in northern Minnesota this morning.

No new record low temperatures were set for March 23rd, but temperatures this morning were still some -10 to -20 degrees below normal for this time of year.
