Duluth Airport Sees First 32-Degree Temperature of Fall

This morning, October 14, 2024, the Duluth Airport registered the season’s first 32-degree temperature with a low of 32 degrees. The typical date for the initial 32-degree reading is October 1st, while last year, the first occurrence was on October 16th.

This morning’s notable temperatures included 19 degrees in Aitkin, 22 degrees in Hibbing, 25 degrees in Floodwood, and 27 degrees at Superior Airport.

Expect another cold night with widespread temperatures in the 20s to lower 30s across northeast Minnesota and northwest Wisconsin. There’s also a possibility for temperatures to dip into the teens in the typically colder areas of northern Minnesota.

Note: Frost may occur for the first time this season near Lake Superior on Tuesday morning, depending on how quickly the clouds disperse following some late afternoon and evening showers.
