The biggest daily snowfall in Duluth so far this month was 2.6 inches on the 8th. We’ll see if today’s snowfall tops that amount.
Heading into this snow event, Duluth’s December snowfall total was 10.4 inches below average.
Here’s my updated snowfall forecast for the Twin Ports and nearby areas for this event.
Snowfall will range from about 1 to 3 inches in Duluth and Superior, increasing to 4 to 7 inches around South Range, Patzau, Holyoke, and Moose Lake, with roughly 3 to 4 inches in the areas between these zones.
Confidence remains low on the northern edge of this system, as I could see the 4-inch totals possibly edging a bit closer to Duluth, though I still believe those chances are fairly slim late this morning.
Note: Snow in Duluth should taper off late tonight between 10 PM and midnight, but blowing snow will likely remain a problem through Monday.

And here’s a look at my updated snowfall forecast for the entire Northland ending 6 AM Monday.

HRRR model simulated radar forecast ending 3 AM Monday.
