At 11:05 AM CDT This Morning, a mariner reported a waterspout 2 nautical miles northeast of Park Point, the waterspout was moving south-southwest at 10 knots toward Park Point. This waterspout dissipated at approximately 11:10 AM before reaching land. Source: NWS Duluth, Minnesota.
Waterspouts are tornadoes that form over water. They can occur over the Great Lakes, especially during the fall months. Waterspouts sometimes move onshore, if they do make sure you seek shelter immediately.
