Heads up! A system coming out of the Rockies could bring some rain to Minnesota and Wisconsin next weekend (December 13-14)  The map below is from Today’s 12z run per EUROPEAN ensemble model — tropicaltidbits.com website.

This image shows temperatures at 850mb valid for Saturday, December 13.  The blue colors indicate H85 temperatures of 0 degrees C or colder and is a good indicator of where the rain/snow line will setup.  Note how far north into Canada the 0C temperature contour is located for next Saturday.  Meanwhile, low pressure over western South Dakota and high pressure over the southeast U.S. will allow moisture to pump north out of the Gulf of Mexico.  This Pattern resembles spring more than early winter.  Of course with it being over a week away things could change so stay tuned.
