An upper level disturbance is dropping southeast through the upper Midwest this afternoon which led to partly sunny to mostly cloudy skies across our area. The system which brought the rain to most of the Northland Saturday night has moved quickly into eastern Canada today, slightly cooler airmass behind this storm with highs today ranging from the mid 40s to low 50s (Near average to a couple degrees below average for October 15)
Partly to mostly cloudy skies for tonight with a chance for a few light rain showers mainly this evening as an upper level disturbance continues to drop south/east through the upper Midwest. Lows tonight will be in the 20s and 30s.
A nice stretch of weather begins on Monday and should continue at least through Friday (20th) The flow aloft will be out of the west or southwest this week — A cold front will move through the area midweek with another cold frontal passage slated for sometime next weekend. No rain in our area through Friday, but there could be a few showers around for next weekend (21st-22nd)
Highs Monday ranging from the lower 50s in far northeast Minnesota to the mid 50s to low 60s elsewhere. Highs Tuesday mainly in the 60s with highs on Wednesday in the mid 50s to lower 60s. Even warmer temperatures are possible later this week when daytime highs could approach 70 degrees over parts of the Northland — This looks most likely to occur either Friday or Saturday (20th-21st) the way it looks now. Note: Normal highs in mid October are ~50 degrees in northeast Minnesota and northwest Wisconsin.
Note: No signs of any significant push of colder temperatures until maybe around the 24th-25th of this month, so for those who like mild temperatures, enjoy the next week or so because we all know a change to cold temperatures, and eventually snowier weather isn’t far away!
