Cool tonight with patchy frost possible in parts of the Northland; milder temps this weekend; rain possible Sunday PM into Monday

A few days ago it looked like we would get some rain in the Northland this weekend, but the models/forecast have changed quite a bit since then. An upper level ridge now looks to hold firm which will keep the rain at bay until Sunday night or Monday.

Some parts of the Northland could have temperatures dip into the 34 to 39 degree range late tonight/early Friday morning, this could lead to some patchy frost developing in some parts of the area.

…Weather Summary…

An upper level ridge of high pressure will park itself right over the Great Lakes through the weekend. Expect mainly dry weather in the area from tonight through Saturday night.

Cool tonight with lows in the 40s to lower 50s with some spots dipping into the 30s. Could be some patchy fog later tonight which will burn off between 7-9 AM Friday.

Highs Friday in the mid 60s to mid 70s, mostly sunny to partly cloudy skies with an easterly wind 5 to 15 mph, a little gustier near Lake Superior.

Should have highs in the 70s Saturday and Sunday as winds shift to the south which will help boost the temps just a little bit.

Eventually will be impacted by a trough and cold front, but this likely won’t happen until later Sunday or possibly as late as Monday, will get some rain as that trough and cold front move through the area late this weekend into early next week.
