- A beautiful early March day across the Northland as high temperatures today topped out in the mid 40s, and this around 15 degrees above normal for March 2nd.
- Temperatures this afternoon across northeast Minnesota and northwest Wisconsin were around 30 degrees warmer compared to Monday afternoon’s temperatures.
- High temperatures Wednesday thru Friday will be in the 30s and 40s in northeast Minnesota and northwest Wisconsin, but a northeast wind will keep things a little cooler near Lake Superior.
- Our best shot for seeing 50 degree temperatures in the Northland could come on Sunday, March 7.
- A quiet weather pattern continues in our area thru this weekend.
- I’m keeping an eye on two systems for next week, one in the March 9-11 time frame, the other in the March 12-15 time frame.
- The first system looks warm enough where most of the precipitation falls as rain in northeast Minnesota and northwest Wisconsin, but we could see the rain mix with or change over to some snow on the backside of the system next Wednesday or Thursday.
- The second system may have colder air in place for more of a wintry precipitation threat for next weekend, but there is still a lot of time for things to change for both systems when it comes to storm tracks and temperatures. Stay tuned.

Highs today across much of South Dakota into parts of western and southern North Dakota topped out in the 50s and 60s, and this is 25-35 degrees above normal for March 2nd.
Probabilities for high temps >50 degrees valid from Saturday, March 6 thru Wednesday, March 10 per European Ensemble model.
For the Northland, it appears that our greatest chance for 50 degree high temperatures will come on Sunday, but far southern portions of the area also has a chance for 50 degree temps from next Monday thru Wednesday.
