- 8:15 PM: Marine Thunderstorm Wind 43 mph. 6 SE Duluth, MN (St. Louis County) Measured at Duluth Sky Harbor Airport.

- 8:10 PM: Marine Thunderstorm Wind 40 mph. 7 SSE French River, MN.

- 8:02 PM: Hail 0.88 inch. 1 WSW Saginaw, MN (St. Louis County) Hail and gusty winds.

- 6:34 PM: Hail 3.00 inch (Tea Cup size) Bena, MN (Cass County) Hail up to 2.9 inches measured near Bena.
- 6:15 PM: Hail 1.50 inch (Ping Pong Ball size) 5 NE Schley, MN (Cass County)
Widespread power outages are occurring in parts of the Northland this evening as severe thunderstorms move southeast across the area producing damaging winds, large hail and frequent lightning.
MN Power reports 180 outages affecting 8,255 customers as of 8:40 PM Monday.
Lake Country Power reported 120 outages affecting 4,775 members as of 8:40 PM Monday.
One good thing about these thunderstorms is the rain they are producing, and wow talk about some torrential downpours!
Anywhere from 0.50 to over 1″ of rain in an hour with these storms which have been moving southeast through parts of the Northland late this afternoon/evening.
Note: Duluth Airport picked up nearly 1″ of rain (0.95″) in less than an hour this evening.
First line of storms continues to move SE across northwest Wisconsin this evening, but additional storms are already developing, and could continue to develop farther W-NW into Minnesota (yellow outlined area on map)
Although one round of strong to severe thunderstorms continues to move off to the southeast and into northwest Wisconsin as of 9 PM Monday, we may see additional scattered strong to severe storms continue to develop while affecting portions of northeast and east-central Minnesota and northwest Wisconsin through the night with potential for large hail and damaging winds along with frequent lightning and torrential rainfall.
