A trough of low pressure over the Northern Plains this morning will continue to move to the east and northeast through Tuesday morning, this system will bring some rain to northeast Minnesota and northwest Wisconsin by late this afternoon into early Tuesday morning.

Rain is forecast to move into western/southern sections of the Northland by late this afternoon or early this evening, with rain moving into Duluth and Superior ~8 PM to 11 PM tonight. Rain ends from W-E early Tuesday morning.

–Least amount of rain is expected across northwest portions of the area where a trace to less than a quarter inch of rain is forecast, including for International Falls and Bigfork.
–Highest amounts of rain are expected in most of northwest Wisconsin and eastern Minnesota where a half inch to over an inch of rain is possible including for Hinckley, Pine City, Solon Springs, Minong, Shell Lake, Spooner, Siren, Hayward, Winter, Hurley and Ashland.
–Anywhere from 0.20″ to 0.40″ of rain is possible for Duluth, Superior, Port Wing, Brainerd, Moose Lake, Aitkin, Hill City, Two Harbors and Silver Bay.
–Rain totals of around a quarter inch are possible for Hibbing, Grand Rapids, Ely, Isabella, and Grand Marais.
