Tonight, will be all about the cold temperatures and gusty winds as one last shot of arctic air moves over the Northland.
An Alberta Clipper affects the Northland Saturday night bringing milder temperatures and a period of snow to the area with snowfall accumulations ranging from 0.5″ to 2.0″ (highest amounts in northern Minnesota and Arrowhead)
Highs on Sunday are forecast to climb toward the freezing mark to a few degrees above freezing, so any new snow we get Saturday night will probably melt by Sunday afternoon.

The weather looks fine during the day Saturday, and then will see some snow move across the Northland Saturday evening into early Sunday morning.
Timing of the snow for Duluth looks to be from around 7 PM Saturday to Midnight with total snowfall accumulations of up to one inch.

This should be our last shot of this type of cold we see for the rest of this winter, and this is quite the cold air mass for so late in the season.
Lows tonight in the Northland will range from around -10 to -25 degrees.

Duluth -18 set in 1880 (a 142-year-old record!)
Tonight’s low temperatures in the Northland will be running a good 20 to over 30 degrees below average for this time of year!
Warming trend is still a go for next week.
-Daytime highs in the 40s in northeast Minnesota and northwest Wisconsin from around March 15-20, with a few 50s possible on a few of those days next week.
-Even warmer across southern Minnesota where there is a lot less snow currently on the ground, that area is looking at highs in the 50s and 60s next week.
No major systems are expected to impact the Northland through next week the way it looks now, but there have been a few signals showing up on the computer models for a storm to possibly impact the Northland sometime in the March 21-24 time frame, but that is a long way away, that plus the computer models were forecasting a very active month of March with several storms affecting the upper Midwest, and well so far, it’s been quite the opposite at least here in the Northland.
