A clipper system will affect the Northland tonight. This system will produce about a 1-to-3-hour period of snow from mid evening through early Sunday morning. Milder temperatures will move in behind this system, but it will also become breezy once again with a southerly wind tonight becoming northwest Sunday morning. Wind gusts of 20 to 30 mph are possible in the Northland on Sunday.

Timing of the snow for Duluth looks to be from about 9 PM to Midnight tonight with up to an inch of snow.

An area of strong warm air advection will move east out of western Minnesota tonight.
That area of strong warm air advection combined with steep mid-level lapse rates >7.0 c/km could help produce to some bursts of heavier snowfall in parts of the Northland later this evening.

Strongest wind gusts in the Northland should occur on Sunday, this is when we could see wind gusts of 20 to 30 mph or stronger. Wind speeds diminish quickly later Sunday afternoon.
Highs on Sunday are forecast to range from the 20s in far northern Minnesota to the 30s over the rest of the Northland. Note: Southern Minnesota will have highs in the 40s to around 50 on Sunday.
