A quiet weather pattern continues in the Northland over the next few days, but a more active weather pattern sets up by midweek as a low-pressure system heads northeast out of the Central Plains which will be followed by a second system later in the upcoming week, but this second system looks like it will move farther south compared to the first system which takes a farther north track.
Bottom line is that precipitation chances are highest in the Northland late Tuesday into Wednesday associated with the first system, while precipitation chances are lower with that second system based on the current storm track.
With warm air in place precipitation types will be an issue for Tuesday and Wednesday with both rain and snow expected.
The greatest chances for accumulating wet snow late Tuesday into Wednesday looks to be over north-central Minnesota into the Arrowhead, while mostly rain is expected farther south from eastern Minnesota into northwest Wisconsin with precipitation possibly changing over to a little wet snow on Wednesday.
For Duluth — Rain late Tuesday afternoon mixing with and possibly changing over to some wet snow late Tuesday night into Wednesday. Less than 1″ of wet slushy snow is expected in Duluth Tuesday night and Wednesday the way it looks now.

Warm temps continue in Duluth into midweek followed by a brief cooling trend late in the upcoming week, but early indications are for milder temps to return again by next weekend.
Split flow in place right now with an active southern branch of the jet stream over the southern U.S. today.
Note: The upper low moving ashore near Los Angeles, California late today is the system which may bring some rain and snow to the Northland by late Tuesday.
