Very Cold this week

Very cold temperatures will continue in the Northland for the next few days. 

Lows tonight will range from around 10 below to 20 below with highs on Monday ranging from around zero to 5 below.

Highs Tuesday through Friday will mainly be in the single digits to around 10 above zero, but we’re still looking at subzero low temps mid to late week. It probably won’t be until next Sunday before we say goodbye to this arctic airmass, or at least goodbye to it for now.

Gusty winds will also continue tonight through Tuesday which will cause wind chill temperatures to fall to around 30 to 35 below zero.

Cold arctic air covers a widespread area from Canada to the northern and central U.S., and even as far south as central Texas today.

It’s snowing pretty far to the south today with all the cold air in place.

Widespread winter weather alerts in effect all the way down to the Gulf Coast for the next few days.

Several inches of snow are expected through Tuesday morning, stretching from parts of Arkansas into much of Kentucky and also affecting northern parts of Mississippi and Alabama.
