Today, parts of the Northland experienced rainfall, with far northern Minnesota receiving the most. International Falls reported 0.36 inches of rain, while Duluth recorded a mere 0.02 inches by 5 PM.

The rain impacting the Northland today stems from a strong cold front and trough advancing eastward from the Dakotas. Meanwhile, to the east, a distinct system is ascending northeastward into Lower Michigan. This is the same system that deposited a significant amount of snow in the Rockies over the past weekend.
