It will be windy for the next few days, with a few inches of snow expected in far northern Minnesota on Tuesday

Strong winds are expected over the next few days as the Northland will be situated between arctic air to the northeast and milder air to the west.

We will observe several rounds of warm air and cold air advection affecting the Northland through midweek as clipper systems track north/east of our area.

It looks like Duluth will have a couple days this week with highs around freezing, but the wind will make it feel colder.

The Northland will have strong west winds tonight, changing to northwest on Monday. Winds will be 15 to 25 mph, with gusts up to 30 to 45 mph, particularly near Lake Superior.

Winds will drop slightly late Monday night but will rise again on Tuesday, with strong winds expected across much of the Northland.

HRRR model wind gust forecast through Midnight Monday night.
