A few foggy days are expected near Lake Superior as humid east winds move across the lake, creating conditions for fog starting tonight and lasting through at least Thursday morning. The fog might lift briefly for a few hours on Wednesday afternoon. Dense Fog Advisories may be issued occasionally for areas near Lake Superior in the coming days.

Fog is expected to extend farther inland from Lake Superior tonight, lingering into mid-morning Wednesday. However, areas farther from the lake are more likely to see the fog dissipate, making way for some sunshine by Wednesday afternoon.

The weather pattern for the rest of this week into early next week will become more amplified, with two troughs developing—one in the west and another in the east—while a ridge forms in between.

This pattern will bring mild temperatures to northeast Minnesota and northwest Wisconsin, with highs in the 70s through early next week and possibly a few days reaching the 80s. However, a prolonged easterly wind near Lake Superior is expected for the rest of this week into early next week, keeping temperatures in the 50s and 60s within roughly 10 to 15 miles of the lake.

Note: Rain chances don’t seem too promising over the next few days, but scattered showers might pop up in parts of the Northland later this week and into early next week.
