As expected, temperatures were cooler in the Northland today, especially near Lake Superior, where a northeasterly breeze kept highs in the upper 50s and lower 60s—pretty close to normal for late September. This Friday afternoon, temperatures near Lake Superior were about 15 to 20 degrees cooler compared to Thursday afternoon.
International Falls, Minnesota reached a low of 31 degrees this morning, marking the first time it has gone below freezing since September 7th, when the temperature was 29 degrees.
Temperatures in northeast Minnesota and northwest Wisconsin are expected to reach the mid-60s to low 70s on Saturday, with Sunday bringing mostly 70s across the region.
Apart from a few showers or an isolated thunderstorm briefly late tonight in far northern Minnesota due to a passing cold front, the rest of the weekend and early next week look dry across the entire Northland.
Note: Rain is not expected in Duluth tonight.
