A trough over the upper Midwest will keep conditions seasonal over the next few days, with frost possible tonight in northern Minnesota and a frost or even a freeze likely across the area Tuesday night into Wednesday morning.
Temperatures tonight will dip to around 30 degrees, potentially leading to frost in parts of northern Minnesota. A frost advisory is in place from late tonight through 9 AM on Monday.
Note: No frost is expected in Duluth tonight.

A widespread frost and freeze is forecasted for northeast Minnesota and northwest Wisconsin late Tuesday night into Wednesday morning, with temperatures dropping to between 25 and 30 degrees.
Temperatures are expected to be a bit warmer within 5 to 10 miles of Lake Superior, but even in these areas, frost could still form for the first time this season early Wednesday morning.
In 2024, Duluth’s first freeze at 32 degrees happened on October 14, and the first 28-degree freeze occurred on October 16.

By Wednesday, we expect to add more color to these maps as more regions experience their first 32-degree and possibly 28-degree freeze of the fall season.
