Cooler, more seasonal weather has settled over northeast Minnesota and northwest Wisconsin this morning following the passage of the cold front on Sunday.
Temperatures in our area are about 25 to 30 degrees colder at 8 AM today compared to the same time on Sunday.

At 8 this morning, temperatures in northeast Minnesota and northwest Wisconsin ranged from the mid-30s to the low and mid-40s, a sharp drop from the 60s and low 70s recorded at the same time on Sunday morning.

Note: Highs today will mostly be in the 50s to around 60 degrees, making it feel much more typical for early October.

The upper Midwest has experienced an unusually warm stretch, with average temperatures from September 22 to October 5 running between 9 and over 15 degrees above normal!
In Duluth, the most recent below-average temperature was recorded on September 19th, only 1 degree below the average, and before that, on September 11th, which was 4 degrees below the average.
To put it differently, 23 of the past 25 days since September 11th have been warmer than average in Duluth.
