A fresh update on the seasonal snowfall totals for 2025-2026 as of February 1st.
This winter’s big winners for snowfall have been along the South Shore of Lake Superior (no real surprise there), with totals ranging from 130 to over 160 inches so far from Marquette to Sault Ste. Marie. Even for those areas, that’s about 50 inches above normal through February 1st.
This winter, the absence of major storms from the Rockies or Plains has resulted in below-average snowfall across most of northeast Minnesota and far northwest Wisconsin. The exception is in the favored northwest flow snowbelts of far northern Wisconsin, where snowfall has been above average.
Top three highest daily snowfall totals in Duluth, Minnesota for the 2025–2026 season through February 1.

Note: By February 1st, Duluth had received roughly 11 inches more snow this winter than it had by the same time last year.
