Dense Fog Advisory for Duluth and Superior

A dense fog advisory is in effect until 10 AM this morning for Duluth, Superior, and nearby areas. Visibility is reduced to one quarter mile or less in dense fog. This fog isn’t widespread, but where it is occurring, it is dense, mostly around Lake Superior and along the I-35 corridor.

Visibility should improve by mid to late morning.

A storm watch is in effect for parts of western Lake Superior (shown in peach on the map) from Tuesday afternoon through Wednesday evening. Expect east winds of 25 to 35 knots, with gusts up to 50 knots. In areas with little ice cover, waves could reach 5 to 10 feet.

Other areas of Lake Superior remain under a gale watch from Tuesday afternoon through Wednesday evening, with east winds of 30 to 40 knots, gusts up to 45 knots, and waves of 7 to 10 feet possible.
