A clipper-style low pressure system will travel east from southwestern Canada across the northern Plains and upper Midwest on Saturday, then move out to the east by Sunday. It’s likely to bring scattered showers to northeast Minnesota and northwest Wisconsin on Saturday, with dry weather making a return by Sunday.
With this being a clipper system, it won’t have much access to moisture, and precipitable water will only increase to about an inch. Still, it should feature decent dynamics and lift, along with some modest instability, so an isolated thunderstorm can’t be ruled out on Saturday. Overall, it’s a typical cool, fall system, with temperatures ranging from the upper 40s to lower 60s Saturday afternoon.
