So far today thru 5 PM, Duluth has received 0.9 inches of snow (NWS location on top of the hill).

The Northland has experienced a varied mix of precipitation today, with temperatures hovering at the threshold where it could either snow, rain, or result in a mix of both. Additionally, there has been some intermittent sleet in certain areas this afternoon.

Where the 850 mb temperatures are at or below 0°C, precipitation is predominantly snow or a mix with nearly all snow over the Arrowhead region and far northern Minnesota, where a deeper layer of cold air exists.

In East Central Minnesota, including the Brainerd area, temperatures have risen above 0°C at 850mb, leading to predominantly rain as the form of precipitation today.

-The most intense snowfall, with the highest rates, is anticipated primarily before midnight tonight, affecting northern Minnesota, including the North Shore and Arrowhead regions.

-Enhanced snowfall is expected through Monday morning along the North Shore of Lake Superior, due to easterly winds moving across the lake.

-The forecast indicates that snow or a mix will diminish in Duluth by mid to late evening, approximately between 8-10 PM. Subsequently, areas of fog and drizzle may occur overnight into Monday morning, with additional snow or mixed rain and snow showers anticipated Monday afternoon.

-East winds, with gusts ranging from 15 to 30 mph, are expected tonight into Monday morning along the North Shore of Lake Superior, accompanied by areas of blowing snow.
