Upper Michigan, including Marquette and Sault Ste. Marie, has already been buried under 95 to 110 inches of snow this 2025-2026 season—roughly 35 to 40 inches more than what’s typical by January 4th.

Elsewhere across the region, snowfall anomalies vary quite a bit, ranging from nearly 10 inches below normal in Duluth, MN, to about 10 inches above normal in Eau Claire, WI.

    You should report winter snowfall from November 1 or December 1 until the last snowfall in March, April or May.
