Increasing northwesterly winds will take place This Afternoon and Tonight around the Northland as an Alberta Clipper passes through Iowa into Illinois. Arctic air will push south into the area This Afternoon and Tonight behind this low. Wind speeds of 10 to 20 mph with occasional higher gusts combined with air temperatures falling into the 15 below to 30 below range Tonight and Tuesday Morning will cause wind chills to drop to between 35 below and 55 below.
Exposed flesh can freeze in 5 to 10 minutes or less under these conditions.
