1/26/09: Wind Chill Advisory Information

*Wind Chill Advisory* has been extended until 10 AM CST Tuesday for parts of Northeast Minnesota… Counties in the Duluth area that are included in the advisory are:

Koochiching MN… Itasca MN… Northern Cass MN… Northern Aitkin MN… Carlton MN… St. Louis MN… Lake MN… And Cook MN…

Some cities included in the advisory are:

International Falls MN… Bigfork MN… Grand Rapids MN… Walker MN… Hill City MN… Moose Lake MN… Cloquet MN… Esko MN… Duluth MN… Cotton MN… Hibbing MN… Virginia MN… Ely MN… Two Harbors MN… Finland MN… Silver Bay MN… And Grand Marais MN…

Temperatures as of Mid-Afternoon had climbed into the single digits below to above zero in the advisory area with wind speeds generally around 15 mph or less with wind chills mostly in the single digits and teens below zero.

As temperatures fall back into the teens and 20s below zero Tonight look for wind chills to drop into the 25 below to 40 below range from This Evening through Tuesday Morning in the advisory area.

Exposed skin could freeze in under 15 minutes in these conditions. Take proper precautions if you will be outdoors for any period of time while the advisory is in effect.
