…Storm Prediction Center has all of Northwest Wisconsin and parts of Northeast and Eastcentral Minnesota in a slight risk for severe thunderstorms This Afternoon-early This Evening.

Morning clouds are breaking up early This Afternoon, with skies becoming partly sunny into mid-Afternoon, the airmass will become unstable enough to cause a few lines of showers and thunderstorms across the Northland This Afternoon and early This Evening.  Additional support by way of a secondary cold front will also aid in the formation of some convection Today.

The main hazards from severe thunderstorms Today:

-Large hail (1″ or greater in diameter)
-Damaging winds (60mph or greater)
-Brief heavy rainfall
-Dangerous lightning

*If you will be outdoors This Afternoon in Northeast Minnesota and Northwest Wisconsin make sure to keep an eye to the sky and have a way to be notified should severe weather approach your area.

*Thunderstorms are expected to move from west to east or from southwest to northeast Today…So if you notice darkening skies to your west-southwest you may wanna think about seeking safe shelter.

*Remember when thunder roars get indoors!
