*The following are some radar grabs from the severe thunderstorm that hit portions of Duluth and Superior on Memorial Day*  


Note, these storms developed around the Noon hour in Crow Wing and Aitkin Counties, Minnesota.  They held together for a good 4 hours!

-VIL radar (vertically integrated liquid) a good tool to use to indicate where hail could be falling.  Note the deeper colors over Western Carlton County at 1:30pm Monday.

-Moving ahead to 1:58pm Monday.  Hail core getting closer to the Twin Ports.

-Zoomed in shot as the hail core bears down on the SW-S parts of Duluth, Minnesota.  2:26pm Monday.

-2:45pm Monday as numerous reports of small to large hail were being reported in Duluth and Superior.

-Here’s the traditional radar image from 2:45pm Monday.  2 real intense storms, one right over the Southern parts of Duluth, the other affecting Southern Carlton County, near Moose Lake, MN.

-A final radar image from 4:15pm Monday. Notice how this storm held together as it hugged the South Shore of Lake Superior and the coastline of Northwestern Wisconsin.
