*Flood Warning*
A flood warning remains in effect for the Mississippi River near Aitkin affecting Aitkin County.
*At 12:00 PM CDT Tuesday the stage was 17.8 feet.
*Flood stage is 12.0 feet.
*Moderate flooding is occurring and moderate flooding is forecast to continue through July 10th.
*The river will continue to fall to a stage of 17.6 feet by Tomorrow Morning.
*At 18.0 feet the Aitkin Sewage Plant becomes inoperative.
*Flood Warning*
A flood warning remains in effect for the Mississippi River at Fort Ripley affecting Morrison and Crow Wing Counties.
*At 12:00 PM CDT Tuesday the stage was 11.9 feet.
*Flood stage is 10.0 feet.
*Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast through July 10th.
*The river will remain around 11.9 feet Today with additional rises possible thereafter.
*At 12.0 feet the Boat Landing and parking lot at the Public Access are under water.
*Heat Advisory*
A heat advisory is in effect until 10 PM CDT Tonight for the following Counties:
Southern Cass, MN
Crow Wing, MN
Southern Aitkin, MN
Pine, MN
Burnett, WI
Washburn, WI
Sawyer, WI
Price, WI
Some cities included in the advisory are: Pine River, MN…Brainerd, MN…Aitkin, MN…Hinckley, MN…Pine City, MN…Siren, WI…Spooner, WI…Hayward, WI…and Park Falls, WI.
*Heat indices between 98-105 degrees through This Evening.
*These hot and humid conditions will lead to an increased risk of heat related stress and illness.
A heat advisory means that a period of hot temperatures is expected. The combination of hot temperatures and high humidity will combine to create a situation in which heat illnesses are possible. Drink plenty of fluids…Stay in air-conditioned room…Stay out of the sun…And check up on relatives and neighbors. Don’t forget about pets as this heat will affect them as well. Make sure they have plenty of water to drink and can get shelter during the hottest portion of the day.
