Today’s Weather Summary for Northeast Minnesota and Northwest Wisconsin
First the snow and then the cold, yup that’s usually how it works around here. Sunday’s snow event has moved off to our east as low pressure of 996mb heads into Central Quebec while a high pressure ridge of 1020mb covered the Central Plains and Upper Midwest. Partly to mostly sunny skies were found in our area Today with some lingering Morning flurries and snow showers. One interesting thing did occur Today, and that was a meso-low over Western Lake Superior…This low generated a band of pretty intense snow showers which affected portions of the North Shore of Lake Superior, generally NE of Duluth Today with a quick 1-3″ of snow accumulation. High temperatures varied greatly in our area Today with single digits and teens in Northern Minnesota with 20s in Northwest Wisconsin. Winds were light and variable around 10 mph.
*Snow depth map valid for 12/10/12.
