Location: Northeast Minnesota and Northwest Wisconsin
An area of low pressure averaging 1002mb was centered just northeast of Lake Superior late This Afternoon while high pressure of 1024mb builds into the Western High Plains. A cloudier and cooler day in the Northland Today with high temperatures in the 30s. Snow, rain, and some drizzle affected some areas Today but there wasn’t much in the way of accumulation during the daytime hours. Winds Today were out of the west or northwest at 15 to 25 mph with gusts to 35 mph.

Short Term Forecast – Confidence: High.
Tonight (March 25)
Will see a cold front drop south/southeast through the Northland Tonight with high pressure centers to our northwest and southwest. Lingering rain and snow showers will come to an end This Evening, otherwise will have partly to mostly cloudy skies Tonight with lows in the teens and 20s. Winds will be out of the west or northwest at 15 to 25 mph with higher gusts.
Thursday and Thursday Night (March 26)
High pressure will be in control of our weather during this period. Partly cloudy skies are expected with highs on Thursday in the 20s and 30s. Lows Thursday Night will be in the single digits and teens. Winds will be out of the north at 10 to 20 mph.
Extended Forecast – Confidence: High.
Friday through Sunday (March 27-29)
An area of high pressure will move south/east of the area on Friday, dry weather is expected with highs in the 20s and 30s, lows Friday Night will range from the single digits to the 20s.
Saturday looks dry with highs in the 30s and 40s. A strong area of low pressure will affect the region Saturday Night and Sunday with gusty winds along with a bit of rain. The precipitation could mix with snow at times especially in extreme Northern Minnesota but I think most of the Northland will only get rain with this system later this weekend. As for the winds, they’ll start out from the south/west and then turn west or northwest — Wind gusts of 30-40 mph are possible in parts of the area from Saturday Night into Sunday.
Low temperatures Saturday Night will mainly be in the 30s with highs on Sunday in the 40s.
Long Range Forecast – Confidence: Medium to High.

There’s a chance for some rain Tuesday Night and Wednesday (March 31-April 1) as an area of low pressure moves through the Upper Midwest. Prior to this, a few spotty showers could occur on Monday or Tuesday (30th-31st) Mainly dry weather is expected from April 2-4.
