The high temperature of 65 degrees at International Falls, Minnesota on April 1, 2015 was a new record high temperature for the date. The previous record was 64 degrees which was set in 1925.
Note: The high temperature at the Duluth Airport was 61 degrees Today, April 2, 2015. This tied with 2010 for second warmest April 2 on record dating back to 1874.
A wild day across the Northland as fierce winds, low relative humidity, and warm temperatures combined for explosive wildfire conditions.
-News Tribune: Large fires were reported near Deer River, Pequot Lakes, and Tower, Minnesota Today.
-Another fire along Arrowhead Road in Duluth near Rice Lake Township burned 1/2 acre near Aspenwood Complex at around 2:30 PM Today.
-There have been numerous other reports of grass fires throughout Northeast Minnesota and far Northwest Wisconsin Today.
-Wind gusts of 40-50+ mph have knocked down trees and power lines This Afternoon.
-As of around 4 PM Today: Minnesota Power reported about 2,300 customers were without power; Lake County Power reported more than 3,300 members without power.

West or southwest winds will turn to the northwest Tonight. Wind speeds will range from 10 to 20 mph, but gusts of 30-50 mph will continue This Evening.
Friday and Friday Night (April 3)
Dry and cooler Tomorrow with highs in the 30s and 40s. A weak system drops SE through the area Friday Night bringing the possibility for a few flurries and snow showers. Lows Friday Night will be in the 20s and 30s. Winds will be out of the northwest at 10 to 20 mph Tomorrow and out of the south, east, or southwest at 5 to 15 mph Friday Night.

Saturday through Monday (April 4-6)
A frontal boundary will setup to our south through this period while high pressure moves east into Ontario. There is a potential for some light snow or rain from time to time in portions of the area beginning Saturday Night and lingering into Monday — The chances for a significant amount of precipitation are quite low at the moment but things could change so stay tuned.
High temperatures on Saturday will be in the 40s to lower 50s with 30s in Northern Minnesota. Lows Saturday Night will be in the teens and 20s. Highs on Sunday will be in the 20s and 30s with lows Sunday Night in the teens and 20s. Highs on Monday will be in the 30s.
