Weather Synopsis
Occasional showers and thunderstorms will be found over northeast Minnesota and northwest Wisconsin through Sunday night. It won’t rain continuously, in fact there should be several dry hours through the weekend especially in eastern Minnesota and northwest Wisconsin. A frontal boundary over western and northern Minnesota will move very little tonight, shift slightly south/east Saturday before shifting back to the west/north for Sunday. Near and behind this front is where the greatest coverage of showers and thunderstorms will be this weekend. With the tropical moisture in place, heavy rainfall is likely where thunderstorms occur, some flooding could develop especially if thunderstorms begin to move over the same location for a few hours. An isolated risk for strong to severe thunderstorms will continue as well through Sunday, although these chances don’t look as high as they were with this morning’s round of storms.
Lows tonight will range from around 60 degrees in far northern Minnesota to around 70 degrees in east central Minnesota and northwest Wisconsin. Highs Saturday in the 80s in eastern Minnesota and northwest Wisconsin with upper 50s and lower 60s over northern Minnesota.
