20z HRRR model future radar for the times listed on the maps below
Note: Looks like the snow will begin to fall in Duluth between 11 PM and 1 AM tonight with snow coming to an end after 10 AM Monday.
18z RGEM Simulated Infrared Satellite valid for Sunday evening through Monday evening. Watch the progression of our clipper system as it drops south/east out of Manitoba and through the upper Midwest. This is a vigorous system but is a fast mover (Typical for clippers)
Certainly is an impressive looking system dropping southeast out of western Saskatchewan Province tonight per water vapor satellite loop.
18z NAM-Nest model wind gust forecast for Monday, starting at 6 AM, ending at 6 PM. Gusty northwest winds will occur across the Northland on Monday behind an area of low pressure that’ll move through tonight and tomorrow morning. Wind gusts of 20-30 mph are expected to develop Monday morning over western parts of the area, with gusty winds reaching the Twin Ports later Monday morning, around 10-11 AM. Some blowing/drifting snow is possible in parts of the Northland on Monday.
Looks like a bit of a warming trend coming for next weekend into the following week, this could mean that daytime highs approach 30 degrees here in northeast Minnesota and northwest Wisconsin from the 16th-20th! Note: There are signs showing up in the long range computer models for colder air to return during Christmas weekend.
